That’s a tree in Disneyworld’s Animal Kingdom theme park. It’s made of fiberglass and plastic fitted onto pieces from an old oil rig ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tree_of_Life_(Disney) ) and it’s in Florida, not Mozambique.

  3. Homer Simpson July 28th, 2008 at 12:16 pm

This is in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida, and is made of concrete on an old oil rig.

  7. Demias July 28th, 2008 at 2:40 pm

This isn’t from Mozambique, it’s from Disney world! It’s the tree of life in the animal kingdom. I agree that is a great work of art but please correct the facts about this so it’s not a false statement. If you don’t believe check out the URL I posted or this link here. http://www.awesomeflorida.com/images/animal-kingdom-tree-of-life-b.jpg

It is beautiful, but it’s entirely man made. Its an artificial tree called the Tree of Life and its located inside the Animal Kingdom at Disney World. Please check your facts. Where did you come up with the location?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tree_of_Life_(Disney)

  11. mw July 28th, 2008 at 2:43 pm

  13. x3nocide July 28th, 2008 at 2:46 pm

Um, yeah, that’s definitely the fake tree that dominates Disney World’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Still an amazing piece of craftsmanship, but yeah, totally fake.

  20. Josh July 28th, 2008 at 2:55 pm

    Cool tree.

That said, it’s actually the “Tree of Life”, located at Disney World in Orlando, Florida (USA). It’s not an actual tree (totally artificial and build from a refitted oil platform), but an attraction and has a 3D movie based on the film “A Bug’s Life” inside.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tree_of_Life_(Disney)

  21. keyp3r July 28th, 2008 at 3:00 pm

Oh, that’s really neat… OH! Except that’s actually a FAKE TREE they BUILD in DISNEY WORLD, ORLANDO, FLORIA… way to not know what you’re talking about at all. I’ve touched that tree and I’ve never been out of the country. FAIL.

  22. Walt Disney July 28th, 2008 at 3:02 pm

Euh… this tree is in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando FL.

  23. Sarah July 28th, 2008 at 3:03 pm

I assume by ‘Limpopo, Mosambique’ you mean ‘Orlando, Florida.’ This is the Tree of Life sculpture at Disney World. Seriously. It’s still beautiful, but it’s plastic. You might want to do some fact-checking next time.

  24. Tom July 28th, 2008 at 3:04 pm

Thats the tree of life at Disney World, Florida, it’s not even a real tree but a prop for that area of the park.

  25. hahahaha. July 28th, 2008 at 3:06 pm

That tree isn’t in Mozambique, it’s the “Tree of Life” and it’s located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Check the link if you don’t believe me. http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/AK-treeoflife/

Here’s the link to Disney’s website with pictures and a description:

  40. missie July 28th, 2008 at 3:48 pm

This is the tree of life at Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom and is not a real tree at all. It is a structure built to house a theater. You can see in the picture with the crab the lighting fixture for the pathway and the building on the path outside.

Perhaps some people would deplore carving on a natural tree like this, but I think that this is an excellent example of the harmonious beauty that can be achieved when humanity works with the natural state of something as opposed to against it. The natural form and health is, generally, maintained on at least sufficient levels, and humanity gains as well. Perhaps in this case all that is gained is an astounding piece of art, but if one extends this idea into other realms, who knows what could result?

  90. Bob July 28th, 2008 at 5:21 pm

  115. HAHAHAHA July 28th, 2008 at 7:40 pm

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. that “tree” is in Disney World and isnt carved and isnt a actaully a tree at all.
is a massive fourteen story (145-foot (44 m)) tall artificial tree that has been the icon of Disney’s Animal Kingdom since it opened on April 22, 1998. Engineered from a refitted Oil platform, it is located in the center of the park. It’s leaves are made out of Kynar. On the exterior of it are carved images of three hundred twenty-five animals. Inside the Tree of Life is It’s Tough to be a Bug!, a 3-D film hosted by Flik, from A Bug’s Life. It is similar to the tree of Rafiki from The Lion King, though on a much larger scale. There is a hidden Mickey on this tree.

    RESEARCH!

  116. Rob July 28th, 2008 at 7:52 pm

  118. Paradox July 28th, 2008 at 7:55 pm

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that “tree” isn’t real. It’s located at Disney in Orlando, Fl. My parents go there all the time on a season pass and I have seen NUMEROUS pictures of it from seeing it first hand.

Not only that, but honestly, do you think your going to see a shingled roof in Mozambique? (look at the last picture, in the bottom right corner).

So, sorry to burst your bubble, but you’re either a horrible liar, or you don’t research crap.

Nice picture though, i will give you that.

  119. walt July 28th, 2008 at 7:56 pm

this is the disney tree of life….

  120. Paradox July 28th, 2008 at 7:56 pm

Also, it’s called “The Tree of Life”. Look it up. It’s at Disneyland in Orlando, FL.

    THAT’s a fact.

  121. bortq July 28th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

This looks like the tree from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If it is it’s not a real tree.. but is indeed impressive.

  122. about that... July 28th, 2008 at 7:58 pm

Yeah…this are just pics of the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida.

It’s weird how the internet works, huh?

  123. Eldatari July 28th, 2008 at 8:01 pm

Um, I think that’s actually the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida.

  124. Tsu-Hi July 28th, 2008 at 8:06 pm

You idiots, thats not a real Tree, thats the main attraction of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In the last photo you can see a corner of one of the buildings. I’ve been to AK a BUNCH of times, I think I’d recognize that tree anywhere.

  125. yo July 28th, 2008 at 8:07 pm

hmmmm…. i’ve never been to mozambique before but this tree looks soooo familiar…. oh yeah now i remember!!1 its a tree at freakin disney world. come on now

  127. Preston the great July 28th, 2008 at 8:08 pm

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is the “Tree of Life” at Disneyworld. It is an artificial tree, inside it is a 32 movie theater. Still cool though.

  128. bman July 28th, 2008 at 8:18 pm

Thats the “tree of life” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Fl.
It is an amazing work of art.

  129. Brockzilla July 28th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

this is the tree in Disney’s Animal Kingdom…

its not even a real tree

  130. Tonya July 28th, 2008 at 8:24 pm

This isn’t a real tree. It’s the “Tree of Life” as Disney World, USA, a fake tree the park installed that houses a theater inside. It’s a very interesting exhibit, but it’s not a living tree.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tree_of_Life_(Disney)

  131. j diddle July 28th, 2008 at 8:25 pm

um, anyone who knows anything knows this is a tree that is the centerpiece of one of disneys theme parks and no part of this tree is alive now or was ever alive. idiots.

  133. boggalso July 28th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

isn’t that the tree at disney or something?

  134. Kevin M. July 28th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

Um… no. This isn’t even a real tree. It was constructed/built several years ago and is the centerpiece for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Nice try, though… making it sound all factual and stuff.

  135. zeke July 28th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

  136. r`` July 28th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

  138. Ian July 28th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

    Haha…

This is the tree from Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

Its made out of cement, and has many animals “carved” into it.

  139. alatar3791 July 28th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

Um…I stumbled upon this site so I don’t know if it’s a satirical site or not but that tree isn’t a tree at all. Its actually an oil rig covered in plastic. It is the centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, FL. I would know, I use to work there and saw that tree every day.

  140. Not In Africa July 28th, 2008 at 8:38 pm

This is not in Mozambique. Nice try. Try Walt Disney World. More specifically, Animal Kingdom. It’s the Tree of Life and it has a movie theater as it heart. It’s actually an oil rig drilling platform covered in concrete.

  141. McStunnah July 28th, 2008 at 8:40 pm

Carved? Thats just how that tree grew. I live like 15 ft away from that tree. HA!

  142. Kat July 28th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

  149. Dan July 28th, 2008 at 9:20 pm

Not sure where you get your info but isn’t this actually the Tree of Life at Walt Disney World?

  150. Ramon July 28th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Very nice, however, I can’t help thinking whether it would have been more impressive to see the tree for it’s sheer bulk and without the carvings.

  151. Greenonions00 July 28th, 2008 at 9:24 pm

That’s definitely not in Mozambique. Try a little closer to Florida. Particularly Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

  152. impute July 28th, 2008 at 9:34 pm

Umm.. I am pretty sure thats in disneyland or something like that

    http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/AK-treeoflife/
Tree of Life. I saw a special of them making it on the Disc channel. Its concrete the sculptures. And the frame is an inverted premade oilrig setup. Thought it was interestign.

  153. wade July 28th, 2008 at 10:16 pm

This is not a real tree, and it is not in Mozambique. It is a fiberglass structure called the Tree of Life, located in the Animal Kingdom exhibit at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Either you are trying to deceive people, or you have been deceived. Either way, you should correct this page.

  160. Michael July 29th, 2008 at 12:07 am

That’s the Tree of Life from Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. It’s a fake tree that was carved to look like a giant tree. Underneath it is the theater for “It’s Tough to Be A Bug,” a 3-D film starring the cast of Pixar’s A Bug Life.

  161. John July 29th, 2008 at 12:36 am

You know this is a man-made tree at Disney World, right?

  162. Joe July 29th, 2008 at 12:45 am

Are you sure that’s not at Disney World?

  163. treeoflife July 29th, 2008 at 12:57 am

It is the “Tree of Life” and it’s located at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World, which is in Orlando, Florida. I have seen it many times in person.

  191. Dan July 29th, 2008 at 2:06 pm

Secondly, it’s not in Mozambique, it’s in Florida.
It is located in a small place outside of Orlando known as Disney.
It is one of the attractions at Animal Kingdom, made from an oil rig and covered in concrete, plastic, and fiberglass.
Located in the base of the tree is a theater that plays a show based on Pixar’s A Bugs Life.
It is the centerpiece of Animal Kingdom, and it is known as the Tree of Life.
It stands at 145 feet and contains carvings of over 325 animals.

  201. chance July 29th, 2008 at 4:46 pm

Oh my freaking god. Are you kidding me with this? This is the “Tree of Life,” a FAKE tree that is located in the heart of DISNEY’S ANIMAL KINGDOM. I live an hour away from the theme park, and I’ve been there many, many times. I can’t believe you would expect to put pictures of it up and try to pass it off as a real thing. Do you think everyone is retarded?

  204. BC July 29th, 2008 at 7:17 pm

This is not Mozambique. It is the Tree of life at the Animal Kingdom at Disney in Florida.

This is the Tree of Life at Disney World, Florida.

  214. Sean July 30th, 2008 at 5:21 am

  237. tim July 31st, 2008 at 2:33 am

Cool pics. You were very clever to leave out anything that would give away the fact that your “Mozambique” is actually Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and that the tree is surrounded by rides, gift shops, and tourists to Disney World.

  238. idiot@yahoo.com July 31st, 2008 at 3:41 am

  257. Jas July 31st, 2008 at 10:33 pm

Dumb, this is the tree that is central to the Disney Animal Kingdom, in its roots is the Pixar Bugs Life show
It is a great piece of Imagineering in its own right so I won’t downplay that, but don’t rate this as news worthy
    Go see it anyway

  258. paradox July 31st, 2008 at 10:39 pm

Oh, c’mon… had to delete the comments that proved that you’re a fake?? This “tree” is not real. It’s not in Mozambique… it’s in Orlando, FL @ Disneyland.

Can’t you just accept that fact that you’re wrong? I have the same pictures from a vacation.

just admit it… you’re lying about the tree.

  259. Mike August 1st, 2008 at 2:07 am

Umm… That tree is a man made sculpture at Disneyworld in florida…

  260. Wolfwood August 1st, 2008 at 4:18 am

Just to let you know that’s the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Any real tree would die from that many carvings.

  261. Walt D. August 1st, 2008 at 4:35 am

Wow. That is truly amazing. I may have to use this idea for a zoo/theme park I’m working on. The name of my park is…

  290. Dan August 5th, 2008 at 2:13 am

I recently went to Disney World in Florida, USA. And I can assure you this tree is not a real tree at all, but rather a large (if still beautiful) fake tree at Disney’s Animal Kingdom resort park. It’s a cool place, but sorry to burst your bubble…

  291. lizzy August 5th, 2008 at 4:05 am

Actually, this is the Tree of Life, a sculpture at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. It is incredibly impressive in person, and I am not surprised that some people may think it’s a real tree.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney’s_Animal_Kingdom

  297. ShopRat25 August 6th, 2008 at 6:35 pm

isnt this the tree of life at disney?

  299. Disney visitor August 8th, 2008 at 6:56 am

Yeah, definitely the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom. The show inside is pretty good too. One of Disney’s 3D movie experiences. The seats are shaped like logs, and at the end they startle people out of their seats. It was really fun.

  300. friik August 9th, 2008 at 1:31 pm

Either I’m totally missing the joke here, or is there about 100 completely ignorant people who missed the several PAGES of the location, and decided to write it themselves?

    Pff..

  301. marjan August 18th, 2008 at 7:10 am

thx to the people 4 giving the right information !

  302. Jesus August 24th, 2008 at 6:53 am
